Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, who else sees it, and how to make us delete it. Written to match what this site actually does rather than to cover every eventuality — which is what makes it short enough to read.
Last updated 8 October 2026 · Applies to sahidegree.com
The four things worth knowing
- If you complete the advisor and tick the consent box, your details go to the universities you were matched with, so they can contact you about admission.
- We do not sell your details to advertisers or data brokers, and we do not add you to marketing lists of our own.
- You can have everything deleted at any time, in 30 days, without being asked why.
Who we are
SahiDegree is operated by SunMatic Technologies, 5th Floor, Raheja Titanium, Goregaon (E), Mumbai,India. For anything in this policy, write to contact@sahidegree.com.
What we collect
When you use the advisor
- Your name and mobile number, and your email if you give one
- Your answers — goal, career stage, specialisation, industry, qualification, priorities, budget, weekly study time, placement need, recognition need and intended start
- The shortlist you were shown, and the match score for each university
- Your consent — that you gave it, when, and the version of the wording you agreed to
When you write to us
- Your name, email, and your message, plus your mobile number if you choose to give one, from our contact form
- These are used to answer you and are kept with the correspondence. A contact-form message is never passed to a university.
Automatically, when you visit
- A first-party cookie holding a random identifier, so a repeat visit is recognised as the same person rather than a new one
- Where you arrived from — the referring site, and any
campaign tags in the link (
utm_source,gclidand similar) - Device and browser type, the pages you viewed, and when
- Your IP address, stored only as an irreversible hash, used for rate-limiting and fraud checks. We do not keep the address itself and cannot recover it from the hash.
We do not collect your date of birth, your marks, your income, your identity documents, or your location beyond what a referring link reveals.
Who we share your details with
This is the section worth reading twice.
When you complete the advisor and consent, your name, mobile number, email and answers are sent to the universities you were matched with, and their authorised admission partners, so they can contact you about admission.
Depending on the arrangement, your details may go to a single university, or to more than one whose programmes fit you. Either way, every recipient is a university or an admission partner acting for one.
We do not sell your details to advertisers, data brokers, or anyone outside that purpose. We do not share them with unrelated businesses, and we do not add you to marketing lists of our own that you did not ask for.
We also use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf and only on our instructions — web hosting, and email or SMS delivery. They may not use your details for anything else.
We will disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
How we are paid
The service is free to you. Universities and their authorised admission partners pay us a fee when we introduce a student who has consented to be contacted. We think you should know that before you give us your number, which is why it is here and not in a footnote.
What that fee does not buy:
- It does not buy a listing. A programme appears on this site if it holds UGC-DEB approval for online mode and we can describe it accurately.
- It does not buy a position on your shortlist. Ranking comes from the ratings each programme carries and the three priorities you choose, and cannot be moved by a commercial arrangement.
- It does not buy your details without your consent. Nothing is shared until you tick the box, and you can withdraw that at any time.
Where a page carries a sponsored or promoted placement, it is labelled as such on that page. The commercial terms sit in our terms of use.
Why we are allowed to do this
For your contact details and advisor answers: your consent, given by ticking the box in the advisor. You can withdraw it at any time (see “Your rights” below), and withdrawing it does not affect anything done before you did.
For a message you send us: performing the service you asked for — answering you.
For visit and attribution data: our legitimate interest in understanding which channels bring students to the site, and in protecting it from abuse.
How long we keep it
- Leads and advisor answers — [24] months from your last contact with us, then deleted
- Contact-form messages — [24] months, so we can pick up a thread you return to
- Visit and attribution records — [14] months
- Consent records — kept for as long as we hold the lead, because they are the evidence of your permission
- Records we must keep by law (tax, invoicing) — for the statutory period, regardless of a deletion request
Cookies
We set one first-party cookie to recognise a returning visitor and to remember which campaign brought you here, so we do not count the same person twice. It holds a random identifier and nothing about you personally.
You can delete it or block it in your browser. The site works normally either way; we simply see you as new each visit.
Your rights, and how to use them
You can ask us to:
- Show you everything we hold about you
- Correct anything wrong
- Delete all of it
- Withdraw your consent, which stops any further sharing
Email contact@sahidegree.com from the address you gave us, or quote the mobile number you used, or choose “My data” on our contact form. We will act within 30 days and will not ask you why.
One limit we would rather state plainly
We cannot delete your details from a university we have already sent them to. Once an introduction is made, that university holds your details under its own policy. What we can do is tell you exactly which universities received them, so you can ask each directly — and stop any further sharing from our side immediately.
How we protect it
- The site is served over HTTPS
- Database and mailbox credentials are stored outside the web root, not in any file a visitor can request
- IP addresses and phone numbers are hashed with a secret unique to this installation, so the stored values cannot be reversed with a lookup table even if the database leaked
- The account the public website uses to reach the database can read and write records but cannot alter or destroy the database structure
- Access to the admin system is restricted to named accounts
No system is perfectly secure, and we would rather say so than claim otherwise. If there is a breach affecting your data, we will tell you and the relevant authority.
Children
This site is for people aged 18 and over, and the programmes listed require a completed bachelor’s degree. We do not knowingly collect details from children. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.

Under Indian law you may raise a complaint with our Grievance Office:

Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change materially affects how your details are used, we will contact you rather than rely on you re-reading this page.
